Graduates of Lander University should
1. to be able to gather and critically analyze information in several ways in order to develop a basis for reasoned judgments; to synthesize diverse ideas and information; and to recognize and tolerate ambiguity.
2. be able to convey and understand ideas clearly
4. be aware of the nature of the world in which they live and recognize that each individual shares responsibility for the condition of that world 
5. recognize that their world is a product of cultural heritage and that knowledge of the concerns of people from other times and places promotes clearer understanding of their own lives
6. understand and appreciate both the creative process and the importance of the aesthetic to human life and well being
7. accept responsibility for their own lives and recognize their need to adopt attitudes and habits conducive to positive physical and sound mental health
